Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux Kernel versions prior to v5.15.32
Description
The issue is related to the
drm/virtio component, specifically in the virtio gpu array put free() function, where it does not check if objs is NULL. This could potentially lead to security vulnerabilities, although the actual impact and attack plausibility have not yet been proven. The issue was introduced in version v5.13 and is fixed in version v5.15.32.Recommendations
For Linux Kernel versions prior to v5.15.32, update to version v5.15.32 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider implementing additional checks to ensure
objs is not NULL in the virtio gpu array put free() function until a patch is available.Vendors
