Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 6.0.3
Description
The issue is related to the misinterpretation of the
drm gem shmem get sg table return value in the Linux kernel, specifically in the drivers/gpu/drm/virtio/virtgpu object.c file. This misinterpretation can lead to a conflict of interpretations. Exploitation of this issue may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions prior to 6.0.3, update to version 6.0.3 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
virtgpu object.c file or the drm gem shmem get sg table function until a patch is available.Exploitability
