Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Download Read More Excerpt Link plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.6.0
Description The issue is related to Cross-Site Request Forgery due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the read more excerpt link menu options() function. This allows unauthenticated attackers to update the plugin's settings via a forged request if they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.6.0, update to a version that includes the fix for the missing or incorrect nonce validation in the read more excerpt link menu options() function. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the plugin's settings to minimize the risk of exploitation.
