Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Post Form – Registration Form – Profile Form for User Profiles – Frontend Content Forms for User Submissions (UGC) plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.8.7
Description The issue allows authenticated attackers with subscriber access or higher to create pages with arbitrary titles, which are then published, due to a missing capability check on the buddyforms new page function.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 2.8.7, update to a version higher than 2.8.7 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the buddyforms new page function to prevent unauthorized page creation.
