Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Simple Ecommerce Shopping Cart Plugin- Sell products through Paypal plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.1.2
Description The issue is related to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link. The monthly sales current year parameter is specifically vulnerable to this type of attack.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 3.1.2, update to a version higher than 3.1.2 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the monthly sales current year parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation.
