Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: The WP Easy Gallery – WordPress Gallery Plugin versions up to, and including, 4.8.5

Description: The issue is related to unauthorized access due to a missing capability check on several functions hooked via AJAX, such as wpeg settings and wpeg add gallery. This allows authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access and above to modify galleries.

Recommendations: For versions up to, and including, 4.8.5, update to a version higher than 4.8.5 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the wpeg settings and wpeg add gallery functions to minimize the risk of exploitation.
