Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
The Slider comparison image before and after plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 0.8.3
Description:
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's [sciba] shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations:
For versions up to, and including, 0.8.3, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the [sciba] shortcode to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the vulnerable shortcode until the issue is resolved.
Fix
