Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A slab-out-of-bounds read issue exists in the f2fs component of the Linux kernel. The problem occurs because a sanity check is missing for the
i extra isize variable within the is alive() function, which can lead to the system accessing an invalid memory address. This flaw may be exploited to cause a denial of service. The issue is triggered during the following execution path: gc data segment() -> is alive() -> data blkaddr() -> offset in addr().Recommendations
