Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A memory leak issue has been identified in the Linux kernel, specifically in the
mousevsc probe() function. The problem occurs when hid add device() returns an error, and hid destroy device() is not called to free the allocated hid dev in hid allocate device().Recommendations
For the Linux kernel, ensure that
hid destroy device() is called when hid add device() returns an error to prevent the memory leak.
As a temporary workaround, consider implementing error handling to free allocated resources in hid allocate device() when hid add device() fails. Found an issue in the description? Have something to add? Feel free to write us 👾
