VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Master Slider – Responsive Touch Slider plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.10.8
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin's masterslider pb and ms slide shortcodes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 3.10.8, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the masterslider pb and ms slide shortcodes to minimize the risk of exploitation.
