Description An improper link resolution issue, known as link following, exists in sslh, a protocol multiplexor used to share SSH and HTTPS on the same port. The software fails to properly handle symbolic links when writing its PID file, which could allow a local attacker to overwrite arbitrary files.
Recommendations Update sslh to version 2.2.2 or later. For Debian 11 bullseye, update sslh to version 1.20-1+deb11u1. For Ubuntu, update sslh to version 1.20-1+deb11u1build0.20.04.1.
