Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue arises from the Linux kernel's handling of huge page sizes, where the
hugetlb wp() function calls copy user large folio() with a fault address that may not be aligned with the huge page size. This can lead to copy user gigantic page() being called with an unaligned address, which requires alignment with the huge page size, potentially causing memory corruption or information leaks. The function copy user gigantic page() has been updated to use an aligned address and to use more obvious naming, 'addr hint' instead of 'addr'.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
