Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw related to the NFC subsystem. Specifically, the issue involves setting the
tty->disc data field before the NCI device is fully opened, potentially creating a window for data transmission even before the NCIUARTSETDRIVER IOCTL operation succeeds. This could occur with malfunctioning hardware. The fix ensures that tty->disc data is only exposed on the success path, when both the NCI device opening and try module get() succeed. The code modification ensures that tty->disc data is NULL-ified in error paths, preventing potential issues.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
