Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Tenda AC8v4 version 16.03.34.06
Description
The issue is related to a stack overflow vulnerability. It affects the
setSchedWifi function of the file /goform/openSchedWifi. The manipulation of the schedStartTime argument leads to a stack-based buffer overflow. This can potentially allow for arbitrary code execution.Recommendations
For Tenda AC8v4 version 16.03.34.06, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
setSchedWifi function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the /goform/openSchedWifi file to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the schedStartTime argument in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. Found an issue in the description? Have something to add? Feel free to write us 👾
