Description:
The Linux kernel contained a flaw in the mm/mremap module related to handling userfaultd (uffd) registered on a Virtual Memory Area (VMA) that spans at least one Page Medium Descriptor (PMD) during a
mremap() operation. Specifically, a warning could be triggered when recovering from a failed page table move due to a page table allocation error. The issue stemmed from a lack of recursion during the recovery move, which occurred during the original page table move.Recommendations:
Update the Linux kernel to version 6.17.0-rc1-syzkaller-00004-g53e760d89498 or a later version to resolve this issue.
