Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw exists in the Linux kernel's poly1305 function within the arm64/poly1305 module. The issue involves register corruption in contexts where Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) is not available. A missing safety check allowed the function to be called when SIMD registers were unusable, leading to potential register corruption and incorrect Message Authentication Code (MAC) computation. The fix restores a check to prevent the function from being called in such scenarios.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
