Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw exists in the Linux kernel’s DRM scheduler related to handling GPU resets. The issue arises from an incorrect check of the scheduler's ready condition before calling timeout handling, potentially leading to an oops (kernel panic) or a NULL pointer dereference. Specifically, the ready field of the scheduler is set to true even for uninitialized schedulers during GPU reset processes, such as those initiated by gfx v9 0 cp gfx start and similar functions across different ASICs. This can cause the drm sched fault interrupt service routine to be called prematurely, resulting in unexpected behavior.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
