Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The extent writepage function in the Linux kernel incorrectly handles error conditions by setting the PageError flag whenever an error occurs and then checking for this flag to determine if error handling should be called. This can lead to unclear error handling responsibility and potentially leak the error bit into the submission context during fast I/O operations. The issue is resolved by removing the check for PageError and using a local return variable to check for submission errors.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
