Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw related to packet handling in the bcmgenet network driver. Occasionally, oversized packets from the hardware may exceed the allocated buffer size, potentially triggering a panic. A check has been added to drop these oversized packets, preventing the invocation of
skb over panic() and allowing processing to continue.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
