Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A flaw exists in the Linux kernel related to SCSI device handling. A reversion was implemented to address a kernel panic that could occur due to an incorrect increment of the
iorequest cnt counter within the scsi queue rq() function when dispatching SCSI commands. Specifically, the atomic inc(&cmd->device->iorequest cnt) operation could lead to a panic if the cmd->device was freed after returning from scsi dispatch cmd(). This issue was caused by a previous commit and has been reverted to resolve the problem.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
