Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw related to block queue management. Specifically, a race condition can occur between the hardware queue context’s run work and the elevator switch during hardware queue reinitialization. This can lead to a use-after-free error and potentially kernel panics. The issue arises because the queue is frozen but the hardware context work may still be running, accessing an elevator pointer that is being torn down. The fix involves using a quiesced elevator switch and making the previous one static for local use.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
