Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the serial AMBA-PL011 driver related to SBSA UART access to the DMACR register. The issue arises because the code shares the same stop rx operation between sbsa uart pops and amba pl011 pops, leading to an attempt to access the DMACR register. This can cause a data abort and segmentation fault, particularly in virtual SBSA PL011 hardware environments like Xen vpl011, where the DMACR register is not implemented. This can lead to application crashes, as demonstrated by a reported segmentation fault in bootlogd.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
