Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A use-after-free (UAF) issue exists in the
vc screen component of the Linux kernel. The flaw occurs in the vcs write() function when a pointer to the vc data structure is not reloaded after a call to console unlock(). This allows the vc data structure to be freed by vc port destruct(), leading to a UAF when the vcs size() function is subsequently called. A local user could exploit this to cause a denial of service, making the system unavailable.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
