Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw exists in the Linux kernel’s dmaengine subsystem, specifically within the ptdma driver. The issue arises from a mistaken assumption in the pt issue pending() function that at least one descriptor will be present in the Submitted queue when called. If both the Submitted and Issued queues are empty, the pt cmd callback() function may be invoked with a null pointer, leading to a system panic, particularly during host shutdown on AMD systems.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
