Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw related to out-of-bounds access when running the "perf mem record" command on certain platforms like CWF. Specifically, the issue occurs due to an attempt to access an x86 hybrid pmu structure that does not exist on non-hybrid platforms. The root cause is a missing check for hybrid platform support before accessing the structure, leading to a global-out-of-bounds read. The fix involves adding an is hybrid() check to prevent accessing the non-existent structure.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
