Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A potential memory leak exists in the do timer create() function related to POSIX timers. Specifically, when a timer ID is allocated and subsequent access to a user space value fails, the allocated POSIX timer structure is not freed, leading to a memory leak. The issue is addressed by moving the allocation of the timer structure after the user space access check.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
