Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw in the
bpf get stackid() function related to a stackmap overflow check. This issue, identified by Syzkaller, can lead to a KASAN slab-out-of-bounds write when copying stack trace data. The problem arises when the number of stack entries in a perf trace exceeds the capacity of the stack map bucket, resulting in a write beyond the allocated memory region within the bucket’s data array.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
