Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 6.2.0-rc8
Description The Linux kernel contained a locking issue within the interconnect component, specifically related to runpm (runtime power management) versus reclaim. The issue arose when icc bw set() could be called in contexts that could deadlock against the shrinker/reclaim mechanism. This was addressed by introducing a new icc bw lock to decouple bandwidth aggregation and updates from memory allocation paths, such as node/link creation and destruction. The issue manifested as a lock dependency warning during kernel operation.
Recommendations Update to a version newer than 6.2.0-rc8.
