Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contained a flaw in the igc driver that could lead to a kernel panic during an ndo tx timeout callback. This issue was discovered during loaded tests with various hardware configurations, specifically during transmit queue timeouts. The root cause was a race condition that could occur when bringing the interface down and up, during interrupt handling, and when completing TX operations. The fix disables all TX ring hardware queues during the igc down process and reactivates them during the igc up procedure.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
