Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions CanadaHelps Embedded Donation Form plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.0.0
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'embedcdn' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For CanadaHelps Embedded Donation Form plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.0.0: As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the 'embedcdn' shortcode until a patch is available. Restrict access to the plugin's functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation, ensuring only trusted users have contributor-level access and above. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
