Description A memory leak issue has been identified in the Linux kernel, specifically in the ab8500 power supply component. The kobject init and add() function takes a reference even when it fails, leading to a memory leak. According to the documentation, kobject put() must be called to properly clean up the memory associated with the object when kobject init and add() returns an error. The issue is resolved by calling kobject put() to fix the memory leak.
