Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Docker BuildKit (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Dockerfile frontend loads the Dockerfile and .dockerignore files of a build context into memory without a size limit. An oversized file within the build context can cause buildkitd to allocate memory proportional to the file size, leading to memory exhaustion and the termination of the daemon. This process interrupts all other builds running on the same instance.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
