Description
A reachable assertion exists in the
BytesToEntriesIter::new from header() function. While the pack header decoder accepts version 3, a release-enabled assert eq! requires version 2. A malicious remote actor can send a 12-byte pack header declaring version 3, causing the client to panic and aborting the clone or fetch operation.Recommendations
Update gitoxide gix-pack to version 0.75.0 or later.
