Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions mouse07410/asn1c versions prior to 1.2.5
Description An issue exists in the decoding of OPEN TYPE where the program may dereference an unallocated member pointer, leading to a segmentation fault and causing the consuming program to crash. This occurs because a conditional null check on *memb ptr2 only resets presence when the member exists, yet the system subsequently performs unconditional null-pointer arithmetic and a read operation using that pointer and a member offset. The affected functions include OPEN TYPE aper get() in OPEN TYPE aper.c, OPEN TYPE ber get() in OPEN TYPE ber.c, OPEN TYPE oer get() in OPEN TYPE oer.c, and OPEN TYPE uper get() in OPEN TYPE uper.c.
Recommendations Update mouse07410/asn1c to version 1.2.5.
