Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a use-after-free issue within the xfs subsystem, specifically in the
xchk btree check block owner function. The issue arises from a potential dereference of bs->cur after the memory it points to has been freed, specifically when checking if bs->cur aliases bs->sc->sa.{bno,rmap} cur. The fix involves sampling before type to ensure correct temporal ordering and prevent the dereference after freeing.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
