Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A use-after-free issue exists in the Linux kernel related to the Chrome EC ISHTP driver. After the driver is unbound, a kernel thread, cros ec console log work, continues to access the device, leading to a use-after-free condition and a potential system crash. The driver fails to unregister the EC device during the removal process, which should synchronously shut down sub-devices.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
