Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the ems usb read bulk callback() function where the system fails to properly validate message lengths. When processing data in a USB URB (USB Request Block), the system incorrectly relies on transfer buffer length (the maximum buffer size set by the driver) instead of actual length (the actual size of the buffer passed to the driver). This can lead to a buffer overflow if the message size is not verified at the start of parsing to ensure it fits the expected structure, and at the end to prevent overflowing into the next message.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
