Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contained a memory leak in the verify header function within the AppArmor subsystem. The function incorrectly set *ns to NULL on each call, leading to a memory leak of the namespace string allocated in previous iterations when multiple profiles were unpacked. This also disrupted namespace consistency checking as *ns was consistently NULL during comparison. The issue was resolved by removing the incorrect assignment, relying on the caller (aa unpack) to initialize *ns to NULL before the loop.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
