Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A memory leak was identified in the
mpfs sys controller probe() function within the Microchip MPFS driver for the Linux kernel. Specifically, if of get mtd device by node() fails, the allocated memory for sys controller is not freed, resulting in a memory leak. The fix involves adding a jump to the out free label to ensure proper memory deallocation and consolidating error handling for mbox request channel() failures to the same label.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
