Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw in the tracing component occurs when boot-time trigger registration fails before the trigger-data cleanup kthread is created. If kthread creation fails, the system fails to drain the deferred free list, causing boot-deferred nodes to accumulate on the trigger data free list. Subsequent free operations then only synchronously free the current object, leading to a permanent leak of older queued entries. This condition can result in a NULL pointer dereference and a kernel crash.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
