VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the ALSA ctxfi component where the ct vm map() function always uses Page Table Entries (PTEs) in vm->ptp[0].area regardless of the CT PTP NUM value. On AMD64 systems, a single Page Table Page (PTP) covers 512 PTEs (2M). When aggregate memory allocations exceed this limit, the system attempts to access memory beyond the allocated space, resulting in a page fault.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
