Description A NULL pointer dereference occurs on Hyper-V Virtual Machines due to a missing .negotiate features callback in the ixgbevf hv mac ops table. During the probe process, the ixgbevf negotiate api() function calls ixgbevf set features(), which unconditionally dereferences hw->mac.ops.negotiate features(). Because this pointer is NULL on Hyper-V systems, it leads to a kernel crash.
