Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the tiny SRCU (Sleep-based Read-Copy-Update) implementation where the srcu gp start if needed() function directly calls schedule work(). This sequence acquires the pool->lock, which can lead to a lockdep splat (a deadlock detection warning) when call srcu() is invoked while a scheduler lock is held. Specifically, a conflict occurs between the pi lock and the pool->lock. Additionally, a use-after-free condition could occur if a queued irq work fires after the cleanup process begins in cleanup srcu struct().
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
