Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An out-of-bounds write occurs in the rs9 driver when handling the 9FGV0841 chip. The chip registers 8
struct clk hw outputs, but the struct rs9 driver data .clk dif[4..7] field lacks sufficient slots. Writing to these fields corrupts the struct rs9 driver data content and adjacent memory, which can lead to kernel crashes, particularly during driver unbinding or system suspend.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
