Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the APEI/GHES component where the system may attempt to access memory beyond allocated boundaries when the BIOS generates an incomplete or very small ARM Processor Error. This occurs because the logic fails to properly validate the section length and size variables within the ctx info structure, potentially leading to system OOPSes (kernel panics). The flaw is specifically triggered within the log arm hw error() function when processing GHESv2 records.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
