Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A bug exists in the Btrfs file system where the kernel may crash if the file system switches to read-only (RO) mode during a read-repair operation. This occurs when a critical error, such as an ENOSPC (no space left on device) error, triggers a transaction abort that marks the file system as read-only. If a read-repair is pending, the btrfs repair io failure() function may be entered while the super block is already set to read-only, triggering an assertion failure and resulting in a kernel crash.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
