VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A divide-by-zero exception occurs in the tipc sk filter connect() function. A user can set the conn timeout variable to a value between 0 and 3 using setsockopt(TIPC CONN TIMEOUT). When a SYN is rejected with TIPC ERR OVERLOAD and the retry path executes, the modulo operation using conn timeout divided by 4 results in a division by zero, leading to a kernel oops or panic.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
