Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A memory leak occurs in the Linux kernel within the MCTP (Management Component Transport Protocol) I2C receive path. When the
midev->allow rx variable is set to false, the newly allocated skb (socket buffer, a data structure used for network packets) is not consumed by the netif rx() function, leading to a failure to free the memory directly.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
