Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the netfilter
nf conncount component where the connection list may not be cleaned up quickly enough if more than 8 new connections are tracked per jiffy. This occurs because an optimization limiting Garbage Collection (GC)—the process of reclaiming memory by removing unreachable objects—to once per jiffy can cause the system to wrongly reach its connection limit.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
Exploit
Allocation of Resources Without Limits
