Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the mctp-i2c device where i2c reads fail to initialize the event handler read bytes. This causes reads to return the
val variable from the i2c bus driver. In the cases of i2c-aspeed and i2c-npcm7xx, this results in the return of an uninitialized u8 (an 8-bit unsigned integer) from the stack.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
